I love love love (did I mention love) nut butters. So much so that I just HAD to make some myself.
I love this recipe because it is ONE INGREDIENT ONLY! Just almonds. Thats it!!!
Recipe Below: * 3 cups of almonds* Directions: Soak almonds in water for 2 hours to soften the almonds (this is how I got the skin to come off easily… next time I want to keep the skin on as I think it adds flavor)
BLEND BLEND BLEND in a food processor for a LONG time (like 20 minutes)
Eat with a spoon.
oh and p.s. I decided to add cinnamon for extra flavor
I am WAY overdue for this post about our engagement shoot which happened last October… but it is better late than never right?!
Chris and I met over eight years ago while in high school and have been together ever since. I was ecstatic when he proposed in the Dominican Republic last January. Not only do I get to marry my best friend, but I get to plan my dream wedding!
As a wedding planner, I already knew what I wanted our engagement shoot to look and feel like. Cozy blankets, warm apple cider and gorgeous fall foliage were a must for this shoot.
The shoot took place on a brisk October morning at one of our favorite local parks. Once our photographer arrived, we threw off our coats, wrapped ourselves in the blankets and started the shoot. As you can see in the pictures, I could not stop laughing as we were having such a great time! We are so excited for our wedding in four months!
I did a lot of DIY projects for this shoot such as constructing a cake stand from wood and a candlestick, making my own delicious chocolate dipped apples and creating my own save the date stickers out of Kraft sticker paper and white crayon.
The easiest herb I have ever grown has been basil. This summer my basil plant has seriously blossomed which meant it was time to make my homemade pesto! The recipe calls for 5 simple ingredients. Basil leaves, extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, shredded parmesean and walnuts. It is summer in a bowl!
Hi. My name is Leah and I am an organize-aholic. I love love love organizing. It calms me. It makes me smile. It is weird. I know.
Ever since my husband and I moved into our new home back in December we have been trying to fill the house with furniture, decor, artwork etc! Now that we are finally developing some sort of living space we need to get it organized!!
Below are some projects I simply cannot wait to dive into!
Three great things happened while I started the 90 Days of Mindfulness…
1. I bought a Canon Rebel and a 50mm lens to help me with my photography and my blog. I just recently received the lens in the mail and cannot wait to start shooting. I do not think I would have made this jump without the support of the “90 Days of Mindfulness” page inspiring me daily.
2. My husband and I just got a baby puppy named Lola. She is a purebred pit bull and is theLOVE OF MY LIFE. She has a very special place in my heart and put so much joy into my world. I cannot wait to use my camera on her! In fact, this weekend we plan on doing some fun photos while she is still very little. Stay tuned on the blog…
3. I recently did a photo shoot with Felicity Murphy Photography. By recently, I mean yesterday. It was one of the most fun shoots I have ever done. I wanted to use these photos for my blog as well as my website (www.avogueaffair.com) and she knew exactly how to capture “the look” I was going for.
Stay tuned for some exciting photos by me and by Felicity Murphy Photography!
