We are approaching the end of 2014 and I have two questions for you.. Did you accomplish your fitness and health goals for the year? If so, how / If not, why?
As a fitness and health fanatic and since I have a page on facebook geared towards the two, one thing I encounter all the time are questions about nutrition and where to start. It seems like there’s so much information out there telling us conflicting things to help us lose body fat, but what works for the individual? How are you supposed to know what worked for someone else will work for you?
I am here to tell you that nutrition plans are NOT a one size fits all deal.
I want to help you lose fat, build lean muscle and achieve the lean body that you deserve so you can actually reach those goals with EASE in 2015. Check out the Lean Body Cookbook & Meal Plan below!!
Quick question… What did you have for breakfast today?
If you are like me you get tired of eggs and oats day in and day out so I was excited to see this recipe from The Get In Shape Girl. Check it out…
Sweet Potato Pancakes
“These are very portable and have come with me on several trips out of town for breakfast. They are also a perfect post-workout snack since they have lots of carbs and protein. I imagine these to be something I would want to bring with me if I were going away for a weekend and was gonna workout on my trip or something to take with me to snack on during a Crossfit competition to keep me fueled.” – The GISG
2 whole eggs
4oz sweet potato, cooked
1/2 cup plain 2% greek yogurt
1/2 tsp liquid stevia
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
Cinnamon to taste
Mix in a food processor or by hand, thoroughly, until even. You could even mash these together with your hands. Separate into 2 – 4 pancakes, depending on how many you want, just make sure they are no more than a half inch thick to begin because they will take longer to cook through.
Place on frying pan over medium heat and let sit for 3 – 4 min before carefully flipping onto the other side. You very well may have to flip for 2 more minutes on each side to ensure they cook all the way through but do not burn on the outsides.
*Makes 1 serving*
Cals – 270
Carbs – 30g
Fat – 7g
Protein – 23g

These are 41 recipes for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner that are completely healthy and unprocessed foods. Not only that, but she actually teaches you the best foods to eat and when to help you lose fat.
Now… it is time to make these bad boys :)

I love love love (did I mention love) nut butters. So much so that I just HAD to make some myself.
I love this recipe because it is ONE INGREDIENT ONLY! Just almonds. Thats it!!!
* 3 cups of almonds*
Soak almonds in water for 2 hours to soften the almonds (this is how I got the skin to come off easily… next time I want to keep the skin on as I think it adds flavor)
BLEND BLEND BLEND in a food processor for a LONG time (like 20 minutes)
Eat with a spoon.
oh and p.s. I decided to add cinnamon for extra flavor

Following yesterday’s engagement post is our beautiful wedding day! It has been almost three months since we got married and can I just say… I am SO ready to do it all over again!
Growing up I always wanted to be a wedding planner… I dreamed of my wedding since I was a little girl. Fast forward 26 years and not only have I become a wedding planner, I was planning a wedding of my own!
Chris and I met in high school, the year of 2005. It was the classic boy meets girl, boy takes girl out on date, and a sudden… a romance blossomed. On a trip to the Dominican Republic in 2013 Chris and I went on the walk on the beach where he dropped down on one knee and proposed. It was the best moment of my life.
This wedding was nine years in the making. We got married on a gorgeous day in the beginning of May. There was no call for rain, but had a partly sunny and partly overcast day which turned out to be lovely for pictures. The ceremony location was on a beautiful lawn overlooking the Potomac River and our reception was in a llama barn!
Family is the number one thing in our lives and it was important to incorporate them as much as possible on this special day. My parents walked me down the aisle, my sister/maid of honor married us and both of our extended family members baked delicious cookies to add to our milk and cookie bar.
Chris and I are big on taco night… so big in fact that we decided to have a taco bar for our wedding! That was both amazing and a big hit with our guests.
Some of my favorite “DIY” projects included
1. Love Notes Guest Book: I decided I did not want the traditional guest book so instead wooden hearts took place of paper pages and a box took place of the book. Each guest filled out a message on the heart and dropped it into a bird cage.
2. Flower Arrangements: The day before the wedding I had a few bridesmaids and family members meet up to put our flower arrangements together. I bought them at a wholesale flower shop and we prepped them and placed them in different vases. The bouquets were filled with fluffy hydrangeas while the men’s boutonnières contained a delicate rose and dusty miller. I fell in love with the gorgeous blooms and the subtle mixture of bud vases along each table.
I could not have done this wedding without the help of my amazing friends, family, and of course, my handsome hubby. That day was my dream come true.
A big thank you to Ally Boop Photography who was our photographer for the day and captured these images!
Also a big thank you to my beautiful friend from @beautyblushnbronzer for doing my hair and makeup (and most of the bridesmaids)!!
I am WAY overdue for this post about our engagement shoot which happened last October… but it is better late than never right?!
Chris and I met over eight years ago while in high school and have been together ever since. I was ecstatic when he proposed in the Dominican Republic last January. Not only do I get to marry my best friend, but I get to plan my dream wedding!
As a wedding planner, I already knew what I wanted our engagement shoot to look and feel like. Cozy blankets, warm apple cider and gorgeous fall foliage were a must for this shoot.
The shoot took place on a brisk October morning at one of our favorite local parks. Once our photographer arrived, we threw off our coats, wrapped ourselves in the blankets and started the shoot. As you can see in the pictures, I could not stop laughing as we were having such a great time! We are so excited for our wedding in four months!
I did a lot of DIY projects for this shoot such as constructing a cake stand from wood and a candlestick, making my own delicious chocolate dipped apples and creating my own save the date stickers out of Kraft sticker paper and white crayon.
